Lead by the visionary, Dr. Octavio Coleman Esq. the Jejune Institute is the leader of self realization and scientific discovery. There many inventions include Polywater, Memory to Media Center, The Vital Orb, and the Time Camera .
The Jejune Institute is not limited to the virtual world however, once you visit their headquarters your life begins to change. Insignificant items become more visible. You begin to see the world with new eyes, paying attention to the smallest detail.

The origins of the Jejune Institute are in the San Francisco Bay Area, where in 1962 a small academic society first gathered around a common interest in the advancement of socio-re-engineering methods. A cross-disciplinary approach was quickly embraced as students and professors from diverse areas of studies began to associate and compare knowledge.
Among the broad ranging scope of discussion, a few central topics emerged to the top. Primarily; the problems of expanding interpersonal trust among fellow human subjects, how to increase general spontaneity & creativity across large populations, and how to induce mutation in the geopolitical realm. As eccentric as these topics sound, they were not based upon the bohemian movements popularized in the area at the time. They were firmly based upon solid scientific research and empirical evidence.
During the 1970's, under the visionary leadership of Coleman Esquire, the academic society evolved into The Jejune Institute; an international not for profit organization with the funds to support it's own research facilities and independent programs. Through these programs the Jejune Method was crystalized, and the Institute soon gained the global influence for which it is currently known.
The Jejune Institute became well known on the internet through a post on Despoiler on Oct. 1, 2008 [1]. The post asks for any person in the San Francisco area to find out if "the Jejune Institute still spreading false nonchalance? Or have they mended their ways?" Fliers around San Francisco and Craigslist ads also advertised the Jejune Institute and their new forms of thinking.

The Induction (Publicly announced: October 1, 2008)
"The Induction" is a real-world information scavenger hunt in San Francisco, California. The Inductee visits the Jejune Institute at 580 California St. and follows the steps given to him/her on what is referred to as "The Map Card."

On October 19, the countdown timer reached zero, and was replaced with a sign reading "Universe Closed Use Rainbow." The same sign as seen on EPW's (now broken) website. Along with this new sign, an e-mail was sent to all participants:

Characters/Institutes
Octavio Coleman Esq- The leader and spiritual guide of The Jejune Institute. A former professor at Stanford's Department of Molecular Physiology, Octavio became head of the institute in 1970. Through Octavio's guidance, Jejune quickly became the leader of spiritual guidance and "divine nonchalance."
Evalyn Kathleen Lucien (Eva)- The daughter of Katherine Lucien, Eva has achieved notoriety as a prankster and social deviant. A member of a young group of San Francisco artists named the "Savants" Eva has become well known in San Francisco's counter-culture. Eva was last seen on Oct 16, 1988 at Coit tower, she has been missing ever since.
Louie Chen- A private eye based out of an office in China Town. Is currently looking for Eva Lucien and his associate Eddie.
Eddie- Louie Chen's associate. Disappeared in March of 2007. Was helping Louie Chen search for Eva Lucien. Calling his phone number leads to voice mail, describing where Louie can find some filers he left for him. Phone number: (415)704-0997
Jane Hewitt PsyD.- A cognitive and behavioral hypnotherapist. And producer of the "Hidden San Francisco Series" postards. Located in the same building as The Jejune Institute. Could know the whereabouts of Eva.
Eric Jamual- Head scientist in the study of "Polywater." Eric believes he is currently under attack by Microwave Harassment and "group stalkings" by the JI, also that the JI is suppressing the truth about Nonchalance. A supposed "Microwave Harassment" attack can be heard when calling his voice mail (415)422-601
Elsewhere Public Works (website currently broken)- The possible competitor or rebellion force against the Jejune Institute. The warn the public about JI's "False Nonchalance" and "Microwave Harassment". EPW's main form of communication is by weather ballon and carrier pidgeon. Some of their services include: "Shoelace recycling programs," "missing sock recovery," "Armageddon preparedness" (currently suspended... indefinitely), and "dream patents."
The Jejune Institute- The self proclaimed "leader of self discovery." Believed by some to be a program that will change your life, for the better, while others feel they are suppressing and controlling the thoughts of the citizens, and are waging a "war against Cyrus B."
